Record ASI stream using StreamXpert
StreamXpert is a DekTec’s industry standard MPEG-2 transport stream analyzer, that provides detailed statistics on PIDs in a transport stream, details of services with tables in Real Time which helps in troubleshooting and deep analysis of TS. The stream analyzer analyzes the transport stream (TS), decodes the video and audio information.
Required Software
StreamXpert: StreamXpert v1.36.2 Install Package For use with a v1 license
DtInfo: DekTec hardware information tool

StreamXpert Presets
- Download and launch the app, StreamXpert.
- Set recording time,
- Click on Analyzer in the top left corner and click on Options.
- Select Recording, choose Mode: Max. Time and enter the maximum time you want to record the stream. For example, for 5 mins set 00:05:00.
- Enable the check box ‘Always ask for a new file’. Enabling this will avoid overwriting a file.
- Click OK.
Capturing ASI Stream
- Once you have the connection set-up and ASI BNC cable connected to DekTec
IN, you will see the PID info and other TS details as below.
- Now click on the icon to start recording the TS. When prompted, enter the file name, and choose the directory to save the TS.
- Click on to stop recording. If not, the recording will automatically stop after the entered Max. Time.
Input and loop Through Output
To loop ASI input through the utput, follow the steps below:
- Establish a connection between the DekTec USB adapter and your PC.
- Download and launch the app, DtInfo. The DtInfo app will now recognize the adapter you have connected.
- Click on Change.
- Select LoopThr Port 1 and click Ok
