- No, the rack mount fiber base unit incorporates a UHF splitter which provides multiple RF receiving paths allowing up to six Real Freedom Receivers to be supported by a single fiber base unit.
- What do the LEDs on the front of the fiber base unit mean?
- The LED indicators on the front panel of the fiber base help you to determine whether the unit is operating correctly. Refer to Fiber base unit front panel status LEDs for more information.
- What do the LEDs on the rear of the fiber base unit mean?
- The LED indicators (A and B) help you to determine whether the splitter is in active or passive split mode. Refer to Fiber base unit rear panel status LEDs for more information.
- Can I install a fiber base (rack mount) in an equipment rack?

Yes, you can install a Real Freedom Fiber Base (Rack Mount) in a standard 19-inch (48.3 cm) equipment rack. You can either install two base units side by side using a Real Freedom Joining Kit - Rack Unit (20006-9-031), or two base units one on top of the other next to a receiver using a Real Freedom Rx Dual Fiber Base Mount Kit (20005-9-075).
