Receive settings

I am using third-party downconverters, what receiver settings do I need to change?
You may need to change the Local Oscillator (LO) frequency on the receiver's Receive settings page. This is used to convert the transmit frequency down to the frequency range required by the receiver.
Note: The required value is usually marked on the downconverter.
When do I need to apply a gain boost?
You may need to do apply a gain boost if you are using extra-long cable runs and you anticipate signal loss or where the RF reception level is poor.
Tip: Refer to the receiver's Receive Status page to determine whether you need to enable receive boost.
How do I keep the receive and transmit frequencies at the same value?
Select Update Remote Tx Parameters on the Receive settings page. When selected, the receive and transmit frequency are kept at the same value. Then, if you change the receive frequency, the remote transmitter frequency automatically changes to the same value.
Note: It is recommended that you link the receive and transmit frequencies, but during diagnostic testing you might want to not change the transmitter frequency but change the receive frequency setting to look at another camera.
The downconverter connected to the receiver has no power, what settings do I need to check?
Downconverters connected directly to the receiver by coax cable require power (DC power over coax), downconverters connected through the Real Freedom fiber system do not. Check that you have enabled Receive BNC Power on the Receive settings page for the BNC connectors in Slot A (RF1–4) and Slot B (RF5–8) that have downconverters connected.
Note: It is recommended that you turn off BNC power to unused ports.
