When should I use RF attenuation in a fiber system?
You may need to apply RF attenuation in the fiber remote unit if RF system experiences an ‘overloading’ condition. This can occur if the transmitter RF power level is too high, and the transmitter is too close to the downconverters or if you have external interference. Apply RF attenuation from the receiver's Fiber page.
When do I need to apply a gain boost in a fiber splitter system?
Add a gain boost into the splitter system from the receiver's Fiber page when RF levels are too low.
CAUTION: Applying a gain boost when RF levels are not too low can cause the system to overload/saturate.
